Hmmm I tried the You Tube syntax below and it won't work so used a normal URL

Wow -- I didn't see that coming when she launches into the solo. Impressive, and some nice melodic moves. I'm not familiar with the song, so I don't know if she composed all that, but regardless, she's got some nice technique.

You know that I'm a Jeff Beck worshipper, so here's a YouTube video of a concert he did in Japan, back in 1999. Jeff, plus Jennifer Batten on guitar, Randy Hope-Taylor on bass, and Steve Alexander on drums.

I embeddded the YouTube link using the "youtube" and "/youtube" (inside brackets), but with the page URL, instead of the "share this video" link that youtube provides. Here's the link I used: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R4emJASIuYA

[OK Tim, I now see that's exactly what you did (and explained) for the embed.]

A guy that used to work for me, whom I happily now count as a friend. It's a pretty good time to have Jake over for dinner and watch him do things with my guitar that I may never be able to.

This is a pretty mellow piece by him, but he does show a flourish or two -- later I'll try to dig up some vids of him in Stratocaster Mode. Pretty awesome stuff.

I can't seem to embed the video like that fancy guy Valis did :(

The link is just like the one you tried, but I snipped out the "feature=player_embedded&" part. I have no idea why the "feature=" kills the player window, but it does. Here's what the working code looks like ( "[ ]" replaced with "{ }" to show what's going on): {youtube}http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wqZf20pFhj0{/youtube}

By the way, that's some nice guitar playing!

Paul,
Thanks for pointing out the You Tube URL. Jeff Beck great as usual and a unique technique

A few years back I attended a workshop in Vancouver given by Jennifer Batten. She's a great guitarist in her own right and it was interesting to watch her technique up close.

Yeah, just like that! Thanks, Paul.

I haven't talked to Jake about this particular piece, but he most likely laid down the backing tracks himself to play the lead over. He's quite a musician.

Well, that's all well and fine.
But if you want to watch the master go to youtube and do a search for:
Segovia master class spoof "Segovia gets a tough student guitar master class"

Be sure not to have any liquid in your mouth when you watch this or it will be goodbye keyboard.
Please take a look at my blog. I think you will find it interesting and entertaining:
