And the rest of CS2. Adobe has put the entire Creative Suite 2 up for free download. It's an older, but still very powerful version, and worth every cent.

http://www.adobe.com/downloads/cs2_downloads/index.html

Get it while it's still available.

I looked at the down load time for a portion of that program and did the math. I would have been in my 3rd pensionable year when it was finished loading with the crap internet speeds I have.

Ed,

If you really want CS or any of the other ADobe apps you see there, I can download it on my relatively fast DSL and burn to a CD and mail to you with the serial number. I've downloaded Illustrator and Acrobat3D so far but should probably do the whole CS2 suite while it is available. Rick, I wouldn't know where to begin with GoLive, would that be a good place for me to start and what exactly does it do, Web sites?

Rasp what does photo shop allow you to do? Will it allow you to repaint a hull blue from white so you can see what it might look like.

Sure, that would be a good start. It has magic eyedropper tool that samples color and would select your white topsides which could then be colored in a different color simply by choosing from the paint pallet and then changing to the 'paint bucket' tool and clicking in the selected white topsides. A bit oversimplified, but Photoshop is probably the best documented software with hundreds of sites offering thousands of tutorials to do the most amazing things. Not sure if you guys saw the T-shirt I did for Bob as the 'Che Guevera of Yacht Design' but it was one of my infrequent forays into Photoshop. I haven't read Ricks instructions on how to insert an image yet but will do show and let you guys see what a couple hours of goofing around in PS can do in the hands of a hack.

Hi Ed,

Got that upload thing figured out and tested it over in the Dummies thread. Here is my 'Che Bob' shirt using a photo of Bob on the 'Race Your House' event that was posted on CA. This is a good example of why one should never let photos of their faces or God forbid their bodies get posted on the internet. You never know just what liberties someone might take with them. I think Bob got a good laugh out of this and hope we can get a whole bunch of them printed up for his next shindig or BobAPalooza. I proposed this over on CA but think that this opportunity is too good for them and hope it takes root here.

That is a great looking shirt. Looks like Bob Marley Perry to me. Ok I see were the fun comes in and how some one with some computer savvy can go to town. I have no kids so get left out the hip shit happening with computers and appreciate the talent pool here at Scant Land filling in the missing pieces. Thanks Rant. ;)

Glad I could help.

I've been using Photoshop for a long time, and a lot of it is second nature to me. Boomer obviously knows his way around the program.
If anyone needs a hand decoding, I'm sure we can muster enough "experts" to help out.

Photoshop is definitely the way to go. There are other programs like GIMP that work great too, but most of the paint programs out there have copied their UI from Photoshop. For basic photo editing and color correction, Photoshop is ths shiznit.
