I have a dream....

Postby SemiSalt » Sun Nov 19, 2017 9:54 am

And in my dream, I am in my best suit, sitting at the head of long, polished mahogany. boardroom table.
And along the sides of the long, polished table. in their best suits, sit the brand managers.
And in front of each brand manager is a sample of his/her brand,

And I say, "Open your product!"

___________

The trigger for this dream was getting covered in crumbs while opening a box of graham crackers. It comes to mind this morning after struggling with a new box of Bisquick. Mostly, I'm thinking of food products, but really all the stuff in blister packs is just as offensive. I give them a break though because my namesake Uncle Peter was involved in the early development of blister packs.

I do understand that this thread is supposed to be about unnecessarily difficult packaging, but I'm going to hijack it. This is the dream I had a few nights ago:

------
My wife and I were living next door to Leonard Kleinrock (famous for queue theory and router network topology). He stopped by to show us a filmstrip about his work, and was about to give us a mimeographed quiz on the subject matter, but I woke up before we could take it [which was a good thing because in my dreams it is impossible for me to write more than three or four letters or numbers before I lose control of my hand and start scribbling gibberish].
------

I've never studied Kleinrock queuing theory and no doubt it would sail way over my head. I haven't seriously thought about networking theory in over a decade. I tried to explain Kleinrock queuing to my wife when we woke up, but she wasn't having any of it!
