Happy Canada Day!

Postby Tigger » Mon Jul 01, 2013 3:00 pm

Celebrated with a parade in Steveston in front of about 100,000 people. Now enjoying a well-deserved beer. My uniform (wool, and it is close to 30 here today--blech!) has started walking on its own to find the nearest drycleaner. Hope you all have a good one!

Happy Canada Day to all my boreal friends and cheers to all of us current and former uniform wearers. It's nice to live next to a functioning country.

We welcomed Ish and Ann this morning with a "Happy Canada Day" salute.

SWMBO and I met on July 1, 1967 at a Canada Centennial party put on by some of my Canadian bicycle racing teammates.

My Mom's Dad was Canadian.

I love Canada.

Thanks for the Canaday greetings!
I will add a "Happy Canada Day!" to my fellow countryfolk. I am heading out to celebrate with family & a couple friends at the beach near where my Mom lives. It's a gorgeous and very warm day here. Here is a photo from a couple years ago, with our Canadian flag waving at the wake as I sailed home from Hawaii to Vancouver.

To Ann (Reverend Ishmael's wife) I wish you a very happy birthday on the 4'th. It was such a pleasure to finally meet you. Indeed, may all my wonderful neighbours to the south of our border enjoy a fantastic July 4'th

In my little world you are the coolest sailing chick/woman.
WHL says you are the finest pitperson he has ever sailed with.

Bob, without some context, you'll get me in trouble ! :D She'll be pissed if she's pigeon holed in one area.
Yes to the best pit crew, however Lin can cover foredeck (on asymm and symmetrical) and also trims headsails very well. She's rapidly becoming a good mainsail trimmer too.
Offshore, .... The best all round in any conditions

Anyhoo...the fireworks start at 10:30 tonight in Vancouver's Coal Harbour, synchronized with another barge a couple of blocks from me in English Bay.
