I bought one, the dialectic broke down after the first two uses and it has been back at the maker for three months now. I email them a couple times a week and their answers seem kind of lame. First they were having parts availability problems and then some expert who was needed for the repair went on maternity leave! Excuse after excuse. I think there was a design flaw they are having trouble correcting. Beware.

Well.... the older folks might be right. Experience does lead to competence in many areas. The difficulty seems to be that old experienced folks are often experienced at doing something other than what's currently going on. In my world, if you step off the treadmill for a year, you're out of date and no longer competent.

That said, I agree that older folks seem to look down their bulbous noses at youngsters, often without any cause other than their own insecurities.

My observation is that in engineering, the young guys do all the calculations because they have the newest tools, while the older guys make their living where theory differs from reality, i.e. real world experience.
