As my garage transformation reaches a turning point, a major feature will be two mobile workbenches that can be configured in a variety of ways.

I learned the value of a good workbench when I was working on Soñadora. These benches are very sturdy and will come in handy for all sorts of stuff!

The problem I have with work benches is that they seem to attract all sorts of stuff and then there is no work surface available.

Lately I have been using folding benches, when I fold them up and put them away after a project I find them empty next time I set them up.

They are holding the varnish project right now. Time to turn all the cabinet stuff over and do the back side now.

I hear you on that comment. Every bench gets cluttered. Time for me to re-organize the cupboard space to get the tools put away properly. Nice looking benches Son's. The casters are the way to go.

that portable workbench is cool. But I need something I can drop an engine block on.

instead of retractable casters, I'm going to install floor locks.

as for junk getting piled on top, yep. That's going to happen. It is a sign that you aren't using your workbench. The main purpose for building these workbenches is to have a place where I can work on car part or bike parts. I need to be able to beat the crap out of stuff. It's been my experience that ultimately I end up beating the crap outta stuff. So I need a very solid surface. A sheet of plywood won't cut it.

Interesting... I just finished building this out of scrap/extra lumber from my addition/renovation.

I need to block plane and sand the top to level it out, but it's functional and very, very heavy.
