A note to the Scant's family and Bob Perry and familiy in particular that your opinion ressonants with us. I have spent considerable time on the water in all aspects so I appreciate the invite back in the day from Bob to join Scants and the talent pool here.I will make it a point to physically meet as many of you before my card is punched. To all have a safe transit to meet loved ones, please be as kind to others as you are to us on Scants, and may the 2014 Christmas season be joyful and full of memories that you can store in to your memory bank. Love peace and safe sailings Pamela and Eddie :like:

Nicely said, If you, or anyone, ever gets to the land of lobster, let me know.

Happy Holidays to all.

I'll be back in town Christmas eve. Let us know the next time you head to the "Land of Pleasant Living" and we will get together.

Goes for all.

We need to schedule Scantlings get togethers around the country in 2015. Susan and I love road trips and our diesels are economical to travel in.

Best Holiday Greetings to you all and I agree with Eddie, I would like to meet all of you characters in the coming years. (Susan wants too also.)

Ed, I agree completely. Living 2000 miles from my boat, in the middle of the desert, this place keeps me sane through the long winters. Thanks to all for the friendship, and special thanks to Rick for his work hosting this little Harbor of Refuge.

If any of you skiers want a trip to the southern rockies, there is a cozy home in Taos at your disposal, Rick has been there, and we hope to see his family back there soon.

Can we visit if we don't ski?

Absolutely! Taos is great for art galleries, hiking, biking, and beautiful sunsets. We'd be honored!

Careful there! Daughter's current first choice for grad school is a lab at UCSC.

This community has turned out to be a really pleasant surprise.

My guess is none of you will make it this far out.....so it's pretty safe to offer a place to stay and hospitality if you ever make it out to Taiwan. :D
No, I mean that for real.

I'd like wish everyone a happy and prosperous Christmas and New Year. Treasure everyone with you and give remembrance to the dearly departed.

Don't count on it Jamie.
We have already hosted one scantlinger and more are coming in the new year.
And managed to catch up with some too.
This crowd gets around, always welcome here in the roaring forties.

Jamie, one of the high points of last summer was going to the awards party for the Lobster run and being told "there's this guy Jamie looking for you". It was really nice of you to make the effort. Thanks for that.

OM,

Not only does the offer stand, but you're lovely daughter is welcome to swing by and catch a free meal, introduction around the Yacht Club (She'll love the Corinthian set and the Wednesday night sailing), and any other help we can provide.

Tell here that some significant number of folks who attend UCSC in any capacity refuse to ever leave the area. She'll love it.

Thank you Beau, and I know you mean it. She's never been south of Seattle and has only a 2nd hand idea how amazing the area is.

Little known fact: I spent my freshman year at UCSC.

Ah.... well, you don't need my help. But If you'd like to have us photography any of this beautiful weather we're having right now, or if there are anythings about the place that aren't on the internet, we'd be happy to fill in the blanks.

Beau, Given that she's currently living in Reykjavik, i imagine anything over 35° F, under 35 kts, and without sleet looks pretty good. Of course, we'd rather have her at Duke, which is one of her close runners up, so don't send her no pictures! Thanks. E

Well ... if the PNW contingent (and anyone else who wants to come) would like to get together for dinner in late Jan or early Feb--I'll host!

Perhaps those of us who live here could contribute food for a pot luck affair, and anyone from 'away' could bring booze! It's a four bedroom house with a few couches, and the boat sleeps 7, and I can fit 16 around the dinner table.

Anyone care to suggest a date?

Sounds great. I'll offer my three empty seats in the Bonanza (weather permitting) to anyone in the Seattle area. I could collect folks at Being field, Everett, Arlington etc.

Looks like Vancouver International is the closest airport to North Vancouver so maybe a cab or rental car from there.

Any date except the weekend of the 25 of Jan. works for me.

Please make this in Jan or March, we will be with Olof & Sweet Hart and other areas of the Land Down Under in all of Feb, they are having a wooden boat show down there in Hobart we want to attend. (So starts our quest to visit every Scantlinger we can find now that I am in retirement.)

Likewise! It was great to meet you.

If you are back in Maine next Summer, we plan to head down to Roque Island. It would be a real treat to meet you there, or somewhere along the way.

Keep me in mind when that time rolls around- we can try again Jamie. I'm meeting with a potential buyer for my business this weekend, and oh the fantasies I've spun of going cruising "just as long as I want". I've never done that since I was 16.

Tuck,

I get the final payment on my business sale next week on 12/31/2014.
This opens up many options. I think there are boat trips and road trips in our future.
We are visiting the Harts to see the Wooden Boat Show in Hobart come Feb.
2015 is shaping up to be a good year for us.

We should do a Scantlings get-together at Rob's place. That would be awesome. The irony of being at the foothills of ski country in Northern New Mexico with a bunch of sailors would only add to the reverie.

Best of luck with the sale....looking down the barrel many more years of work at, part of me is green with envy! When Summer gets close, let's talk dates. Last Summer I inspected most Corsair tri's I ran into to see if they were you. I'm sure there are more than a couple of very puzzled Corsair owners out there.
