She does have an offset companionway, but "Glimmer" is opening some new travel opportunities for us. Pat :)

Pat, That rig would be just the ticket for a particular fantasy lifestyle that I have in mind: Cruise Panope in the Salish Sea in the summer/fall and then hit the road and head south for the winter.

Maybe in 20 years or so I will be fully retired and you can sell that beautiful trailer to me!

Steve

I love polishing my car- your trailer might be a little much, though. Beautiful rig.

I love that car!!

One thing I find very amusing is that the side curtains are almost exactly like my 1965 Morgan side curtains, which are almost exactly like my friends 1931 Morgan, which are.... You get the idea. Once the problem's been solved, no need to "innovate". LOL! Working in a world where everyone is "innovating" all the time, it's nice to see things like these side curtains and my old Chelsea ship's clock that have been the same for longer than I've been alive!

That looks like SO MUCH FUN to drive!!

A pound and a half, pound and three quarters if the fuel tank is half full ;)

Too bad, it would look so good towing the Airstream....

Steve, that 20 years is about the right timing, at least we hope we can enjoy traveling that much longer. We like 80 being the new 60!

Knew a guy who raced an XK120. Had big wide racing slicks and was a beast. One day he showed up towing it with a GT6. Wow! So, that Seven just might have slightly more towing capacity. Built in drafting partner. Pat

There was a guy in North Van scratch building copies of the 7 with a Toyota twin cam of some sort. Did a very nice job but I could never drive one because, at 6'1" I looked over the top of the windshield - I'd look like "Jaws" in that movie where he drove a Lincoln with his head out the sunroof.

Too bad Chapman was so short!

I think the only use for a hitch on a 7 would be to tow a bicycle to use to go for help when the 7 broke. Anything much heavier would simply tear the car apart - especially if it was a Lotus 7 - simply driving those things tore them apart. The replicas not so much.

We do see some Caterhams with hitches at autocross events. Small trailers with track tires, a floor jack and a toolbox don't weight much. ;)

Love those 7s. My cousin used to tow his Formula Ford with an Alfa 2000 GTV. I thought he was nuts.

For a great design exercise, put an Airstream on a barge layout with a forward pilot house encompassing the leading edge of the airstream . Side decks to get in and out of the trailer and an aft deck for the twin outboards. Make it a shallow draft boat for traveling down the Mississippi . ;)

Now that would look quite nice. Have to be an aluminum barge and pilot house, though. Pat

Cherie, that is a beautiful!! Wishing you & your wife, many miles and years of enjoyment with it. Well made, with a solid reputation for lasting quality.

Both my parents (with their respective spouses) travelled many, many thousands of miles across Canada and the US with their trailers. Short trips, long hauls. A fantastic way to explore.

Enjoy!

Great praise indeed. And there is just a bit of wood. But Mayan and the other classic yachts that truly committed owners maintain in the style that they deserve are in a class by themselves.

Sorry to hear the sad news Rick.

Give yourself some space, losing a parent sometimes has a surprising effect.

Lin, thank you. We plan to use Glimmer to tour the Eastern states and may work up to Canada. Our family has never done this type of travel before, so it's a significant learning experience. The shake down trips went well. We'll see how the real thing works out. Pat
