Postby Tigger » Wed Jan 16, 2013 5:18 pm

Speaking of classical music--the VSO is about to embark on their tour of the western US. My wife is the principal harpist.

23JAN--Seattle
25JAN--Las Vegas
26JAN--Northridge
27JAN--Santa Barbara
28JAN--Aliso Viejo
29JAN--Palm Desert
31JAN--Scottsdale
01FEB--Tuscon

The orchestra sounds fantastic these days. Jon Kimura (Jackie) Parker will bring the house down playing the Grieg. If you get tickets, please drop me a line--she loves knowing that there is a friend out in the hall!

Given the baggus draggus schedule of this particular tour, I'm staying home and going skiing (!)

Tiggs:
I would love to go but I would have to miss Tai Chi and I'm not ready to do that yet. But I'm going to think about it.
Please take a look at my blog. I think you will find it interesting and entertaining:

Sorry to disappoint you--if you go far enough back (I'm a 7th generation Canadian, which is a little unusual in and of itself), humble peasants from Yorkshire on my dad's side. My mom's side goes back to Robert MacMillan, who fought in the battle of the Plains of Abraham (Quebec City) with General Wolfe.

There are a great many books about Captain Bligh. My favourite was "Captain Bligh and Mr. Christian" in which the author (Richard Hough) goes into some detail about the relationship between Bligh and Christian ... his take on it is really interesting.
