Margie and I are thankful for many things. I am going to cook creamed onions dressed in bacon (the onions, not me) later.

Wishing all of you a Happy Thanksgiving and tummies filled to the breaking point,

Bob

Thank goodness you clarified that Bob, I was going to ask for a picture!

I am thankful about so many things, but one thing is this community (thanks Rick!)

Happy Thanksgiving to you all out there in Scantlings Land!

Kim

Turkey and homemade apple pie in the oven (one time I'm sad I don't eat desserts) with sides prepped and ready to go in the oven. Dinner with just the family and then evening coffee and sweets at a neighbor's across the creek.

May each of you enjoy the company of your family and friends and take a moment to be grateful for our good health fortune.

I am thankful that my family will be together for Thanksgiving for the first time in several years here in Lincoln City, OR where my son lives. Also thankful for all you fine people on Scantlings.

I have much, much, to be thankful for, including this place, all of yous, and the ability to complain the rest of the year.

No traditional celebration today because of spouse's surgery on Monday, but I just came back from 55 hard miles on the bike and will be eating all day anyway. Tonight, I think I'll pan fry some brussels sprouts with bacon and then finish them in the convection oven and mix them up with some of the Restive skipper's wild rice. Probably make some high protein pasta with hot-smoked salmon, sour cream, and peas to go with that and then maybe order a pizza.

Have a fantastic day, all, official holiday or not.

Hope everyone's holiday was fun.

Adele got to spend time with cousins and my gluten-free apple pie was a success.

Life is good!

Thanks for asking Kim. She had some weird issues with air pockets in her body which were a result of the laparoscopic procedure (appendectomy). She's essentially fully recovered. Super glue to close the small incisions!

That super glue sutures thing is pretty cool, Susan had her chest all glued back together with that stuff after her double mastectomy.

Margie and I celebrated our 45th anniversary on the 28th with Thanksgiving Left-over Pie. Layers of mashed potatoes, turkey, spinach (with bacon) and squash. Yum!

Yes and I can provide an interior photo. Among Margie's skills is the ability to make very good pie crust, so I didn't use pastry sheets.
