I just installed an add-on called Ghostery, that shows what trackers are running on every website you visit. It also gives you the option to turn off trackers so you are "invisible" to the marketing mafia.
I'm glad to report that this little haven has no trackers running, not that I expected any.
Combined with Adblock Plus, many pages load much faster when they don't have to report to a dozen different masters.

My little motor crane? I did post it somewhere here, but I can't remember where...





It's not meant to haul up major weight, but it handles my 3.5 hp 4-stroke just fine.
If you look closely, you can see in the second pic the line where it comes apart. The base stays on the rail with the tube plugged with a cork, and the actual crane part normally lives in the lazarette.

Thx Ish. Very clever set up. The top line is static I take it ? My engine is 5 hp about 50 lbs

Yes, the top line is dyneema, spliced to length so that the aluminum boom has no bending load, it's purely a strut in compression. It should handle your motor no prolem, as long as you have the upright vertical. The more it leans, the more bending moment is applied. I used thin wall (.049) tubing for this, if I had built the whole thing out of heavy wall (.065) tubing I could probably hoist myself on it if I didn't eat for a few months. The join is made with a foot of 7/8" tubing that is friction fit into the base section; the machine screws that hold the cleat on to the top section go through the inner tube to hold it in place.

If you don't think you need it, first add Lightbeam and see exactly who is tracking you where. The results after installing Ghostery are quite satisfying.

Make sure you don't turn on GhostRank, otherwise you're being sold again.

I find I have to disable it sometimes because it interferes with video playback, but most of the time it's invisible.
