When I was fresh out of school I ran a printing press that looked a lot like that - no music but otherwise even sounded similar. :D

My all time favourite mechano-kinetic art pieces were Don Potts "My First Car" back in the 70's. I heard he went kind of loony and all but one of them were destroyed but they were incredible pieces. I spent hours at the old VAG on Georgia just mesmerized by them. One had a full set of mechanicals - a drone engine and so forth. They were amazingly spidery and delicate looking but so well engineered that they were actually very strong. I'd love to have owned them but you'd have needed a 4 car garage to hold them. There were 4 but I could only find pics of 3 of them.
