Scantlings

Well, it had to happen....

Misty the Wonder Dog raced off into the dark tonight when I let her out to pee. This time it wasn't a squirrel! Ah me.....

I did the witch's brew of Peroxide, soap, and baking soda, scrubbed her down, and tossed my clothes into the garden to air out. She still STINKS! She's sleeping in the gallery with all the doors open, which she doesn't like. She's used to sleeping right beside my bedside. which is NOT happening tonight!!

Even after what washdown and towel dry (I may have to burn the towels), she STINKS!

The things we do for love.

All too familiar. My last lab tangled with a skunk 2 or 3 times. Never seemed to learn. The peroxide/dish soap seems to work best - but not perfectly.

So far, our new pup has not encountered a skunk. Fingers crossed.

In the light of dawn, the damage isn't too bad. A couple of towels used to dry of Misty are in the Turbo Wash.

One funny bit, this morning when I let Misty out to do her business, she went directly to the battle field. She pissed and pooped all over the spot where she'd had the run-in with the skunk. Staking her claim on the turf. I don't suppose the skunk will be impressed, they don't seem to be bothered by much.
