Filed with my insurance (USAA) who contacted the company for insurance info. The “owner” refused to id himself or provide insurance info and insisted that Lynne shifted into reverse and backed into his driver. Then he told the USAA claims agent to F off in precise terms.
If you are in DC or the inner suburbs and get hit by a “Lenox Medical Services” van, you might want to wait for the police.

I imagine USAA or their reinsurers will get find a way to get paid if they don't want to write it off.

Just don't do anything that incriminates yourself!

Yup, but what bothers me most is that proportionally more people are driving off and leaving their victims to die by the side of the road. I suspect drugs and, sad to say, immigration status.

Wow, that's terrible (the driving off part.) I rode my motorcycle in most of this week. I'm having cars rip past me on the right hand side, in the right hand lane, which is ending, merging into the adjacent lane. Scary and unnecessary. I'm doing 70 in a 65, in the slow lane, and it's still not fast enough for these people.

The first time I drove in the Czech Republic my guys equipped me with these cameras. It was mandatory there, and in Russia, and in Poland, and in Bulgaria, etc.... I'm thrilled to know that Washington DC has sunk the same level.

In our area, the problem is being rear-ended on blind turns. A friend was hit from behind while driving his 1 ton flatbed. A F-150 going about 65 came around a blind curve and hit my buddy who was driving at the 35 MPH speed limit as he approached some driveways. The 1 ton flatbed was just find, the F-150 not so much.
