My wife will be giving a lecture on the North American Saw-whet owl at the Smithsonian Environmental Research Center, this September.

To say that I am proud, is an understatement.

Great!.

Lynne and I attend most of the lectures at Solomons (Science for Citizens) and really enjoy it. Even a stubborn old fart like me occasionally learns something.

We are easily the youngest people in the room when attending SERC lectures. Disappointing.

I've really got a lot out of them. We're going to a lecture tomorrow on horseshoe crabs and the critters that live on them.
That horseshoe crabs are now harvested for their blood for medical applications is fascinating. The crabs are not killed, and are released after they've been bled.
