Thanks, I was sailing all day. (see the this weekend thread) And I did not see this thread until just now. Birthdays are so unwanted as one approaches 70.

But: it was Benno's birthday! Why anyone thought I had anything to do with it is beyond me....I was only 5 when he was born. OK, maybe 6.

Never tried the alternative, so I won't speculate. But I hear there are "virgins" awaiting, insh'Allah, so who knows? I'd like to postpone the virgins for another two decades though.

But thanks for all the B'day wishes, it was a great day, got my boat sailing after 2 years of it being idled and then I got to race that evening on an OPB (until we got absolutely hammered by a T-storm and the RC shut down the race. I had forgotten how much rain hurts when propelled by 35-38 kn gusts).

It was very understanding of the Admiral to give me the evening off, but I mean heck we'd just spent every waking minute together in France for 14 days.

Least she could do, as I see it.
