Let's pretend for a moment, that Kim Jong Un has had a fatal infarction.
Do you think his sister is as ruthless as he is?
Are the siblings even in any real control of the country or are they just figureheads used by old, hardline military officers bent on preserving their power?

What do you do with a criminal enterprise, sorry, I mean buffer state, whose legitimacy and main line of business is a 70 year old war?
It seems KJU has done a decent job of eliminating his handlers and his competition. Who is left? It's also not clear if his sister is even in the imperial/god line of succession. No kids that we know of either.
The people below him have one business; either running the criminal enterprise or fighting the US. I can't imaging they'd be very reform minded. They'd probably be worried they are next against the wall/anti-aircraft gun.
The Chinese want neither a mess nor an American ally on their border, so they will step in, and they have lots of influence, but what exactly can they control?

It is interesting that the South is promoting the idea that he is OK. Is that for internal consumption because they don't want to get their own population excited about regime change?
If the military or Chinese do not want the sister she will 'disappear' like so many others.
