Congrats to you and Lynne. Looks like the weather held out nicely for the day.
How did the boat turn out as the backdrop?

Boat is good. Anchored it fore and aft this morning. Timer turned on the lights about 6:15, just as after ceremony pictures finished. We lit up the yard and the south breeze and overcast have the temps in the upper 60’s. Just the right number of people to stay distanced and have a great time dancing. We did a fireworks display after dinner and speeches and are now into dancing. Kids picked a good music mix.
Given the covid situation, it’s a good evening. Of the big event we initially planned but the right folks are here.

Congratulations! A couple of my robotics kids tied the knot on the 10th.
Which actually surprises me, just a little. I always thought that my having been born on 10/10 would have forever stigmatized the date.
I wish the kids great joy and success in a long, happy marriage, and the production of grandchildren for you.

Rob,
My lovely Admiral chose 10/10/2010 as our wedding date. “So you have absolutely no excuses. Anyone can remember that date.” She’s right. I’m quite fond of 10/10.
Happy Birthday!

While my daughter insists 10/10/20 was the best date for the wedding party and least weather risk for an outside event, I suspect the easy to remember date was part of her decision.
Happy birthday Rob and Happy Anniversary Beau.

Thanks, Beau, and happy anniversary.
Beth is out of town, I miss her terribly, but I still had a lovely steak Au poivre with veggies roasted in French honey and wild rice from George Denny. All in all not bad.

Did you know you can turn a regular sofa into a hide-a-bed just by forgetting your anniversary?

Well, we finally got to go on our Anniversary Cruise aboard MAYAN. Only 7 days late, but it’s been a crazy year!
Departed Santa Cruz around mid-day, sailed out to the Soquel underwater canyon (seriously deep - 5,200 ft!!) There we found humpback whales feeding, last year’s calf’s in tow as they swim south to Mexico for the winter. Lots of porpoise and one blue whale with a calf. I don’t know the breeding cycle of blue whales, but this seems odd. The Humpbacks were wonderful making a bubble curtain and then surging up from beneath it to scoop up hundreds of small fish (mostly sardines). So dramatic and close to MAYAN.
Returned to anchor out off our wharf near “Steamers” a legendary surf break. Broke open the wine and watch the guys n girls catching waves. Watched the sunset. Had dinner. Now reading, writing, and listening to the surf break.
Live is good, even if 7 days late.
