We had this old-timer starting to slowly tilt towards the garage, so it had to come down. Most of the branches and the top 70' of the trunk will be chips and mulch for the garden. But the bottom 30' is now laying in the garden waiting for me to get the big chainsaw running so I can make some more planks.
I have three or four projects in mind. It's an incense-cedar, which isn't structural like western red cedar is. But the way I overbuild things it doesn't matter. "When in doubt, it's quicker to make it thicker!" Incense-cedar is mostly used for making penciles.

That and the inside of a few closets her at the house. I think I'll have about 130 board feet of the stuff 2" thick. Although I'm planning on using about 30 board feet as 4" thick table top and benches.

It does. Also we had the guys chip everything I didn’t want as lumber so we have a pile of cedar chips the size of a 2-car garage. We’ll spread those over the coming weeks.
