Lightning fundraiser for Rhode Island Child & Family

Hey Sailor friends!

I'm doing something crazy... I'm going to try to raise $2,000 for Rhode Island Child & Family in 14 hours! (deadline 1pm ET Sun 10 Jan).

I know that Rhode Island is a million miles away from most of you, but as you know it's my backyard, so I hope you don't mind me putting this request here. I'm the president of the Newport Rotary Club. We had hoped to donate $2,500 to Rhode Island Child & Family, but our primary fundraisers came up very short this year due to the pandemic. I'm personally donating $200, and I'm inviting people to match me or half-match me.

If you're already on board, you can either Venmo me (QR code below), paypal me at dorfman@est.org or donate directly to RI C&F's website. I'll post the final donation confirmation here.

If you send funds directly to me then I'll be able to add them to the club gift. If you donate directly to their website, just let me know how much so we can include it in our newspaper announcement.

RI C&F is unique compared to other state's Child & Family Services, in that they are 100% fundraising driven. They still work directly with all the state agencies to support victims of domestic violence, housing & food infirm, and everything else.
