Totally missed that this was even happening! I though the sound stage construction at Pier 27/29 had to do with hosting the event itself. But I walked past there today and people were lining up for a concert.

There's a whole series this summer: Imagine Dragons, Sting, Steve Miller Band, Train, Steely Dan, Heart, Jason Mraz, Fall Out Boy...

I live across the street from Pier 1, so I can hear the sound stage perfectly from my living room. It's just a little quiet, but I tend to prefer softer rather than louder for concerts. Imagine Dragons is on right now. This is going to be an awesome summer!

As the stage is at the pier, it's also possible to anchor just alongside and enjoy the concert by boat, no ticket necessary. I might have to try that this summer - it's literally a 3 minute trip from my marina. I've never come in at night, though. That might take some practice (and light installation).

We just got back from the local Sting concert. It was a good show, although the sound was a little weird. No definition in the bass, and the voices had a lot of digital artifacts. Still a lot of fun; it was a mostly older crowd, but that didn't stop anyone from getting up and dancing.

I am not a Stink fan. Too pretensious. I like the old POLICE Sting. I would expect Stng to have a sound guy who at least could get the bass sounding good. Maybe it was the venue.

I just learned about Jason Mraz this week from a room full of 5th graders. I like his stuff a lot. We are doing one of his tunes, name escapes me right now. Good tune.

You are very lucky Alex.
