iPad Air or Mini

My Gen 2 iPad met a ceramic tile floor with predictable results. Shattered screen. Company policy is to replace and then our tech guys may try to repair and use it as a pool asset. I use it for email, web browsing, on-line banking, some Citrix business aps that don't scale very nicely and to review documents and spreadsheets prepared elsewhere. I spend some time every day in a secure facility (no outside electronics and no transmitters) so spend 20-30 minutes after in the parking lot with iPad and cell phone playing mobile office.

Looked at an iPad Air last night but also played with the Mini. A slightly smaller screen than the iPad but portability, battery life, etc is much better. Question for all you smart guys is has anyone bought a mini and regretted it?

I just bought my Marine Corp son an iMini with the high res ("retinal" display. Portability is his primary goal and after looking at the Mini I think it might be just fine. I have the big version, and even I was thinking that I might want the Mini.

I'm about to go buy a retina Mini and be the Beta tester for the company. Our IT Director says he'll find a use for it if I don't like it.

My wife and I had our iPads stolen in France this year, she had a Mini.
We tried to live without them, but just replaced them this month with two new iPad Airs, she thought her mini screen was too small.
The big plus for the mini was it fits in a handbag, but she wasn't using it much because she also has an iPhone.
