I did this Swedish meatball recipe last night. It wasa great and very easy. It would be a very good dish to prepare ahead and take on board cold. Heat up and pour over egg nooldes.

Oh, that looks good. The more recipies that depart from the chowder/chili/stew/curry the better, though I doubt I would leave the dock without my mom's fish chowder.

Do you ever serve garbagio soup? Yesterdays soup with today's leftovers added? It evolves over the passage.

Sounds yummy!! I've forwarded it to The Admiral, who is in direct command of the galley.

I just froze up some brown rice and beans with chorizo and shrimp (¡muy picante!). Anyone who doesn't like it can have one of my Clif bars. I said one!

my Finnish wife would say you mean 'Finnish meatballs' ;)

we have that meal regularly on board. Good to prepare beforehand but pretty easy to prepare on board too.

of course, we've never cooked while under way so I'm probably a bad example.

As good as that looks Bob, I think I'll leave the cooking to the cook while I'm crossing the Tasman Sea next week.

Bob, that sounds delicious and easy to make. I will try it out and yes, it sounds perfect for a meal at sea.
Thanks for posting the recipe.

Bob,

Your meatballs got The Admiral's seal of approval - we're going to have it soon. Thanks!

Beau

Bob after I got home and unpacked, I went shopping. Just finished making the meatballs, they are delicious. I resisted the temptation to add garlic. I am just going to add the parsely, and am about to cook some egg noodles and serve with raw veggies. Going to freeze leftovers for family that is coming to town, soon.

Thanks for posting the recipe.

My pleasure Lin.
My approach with a new recipe is to do it "by the book" the first time. Then the next time start to play with it. But I need a way to break myself away from all my stock ingredients that turn everything into "meat with a Bob sauce". I think the simplicity of that meatball recipe is what makes it so effective.

Bob,

My wife Laura just made fathers day meatballs. She stuck to the recipe. I stirred the gravy (I cant cook). They were delicious.

Blueberry and Peach Cobbler for desert.

And a beer.

I am feeling fat and happy.

Thanks for the recipe.

Steve

snip - snip ---- Steve

I've been working that "can't cook" routine for some time now. But Nancy is starting to realize that anyone can chop the veg, stir the soup, set the table, open the wine, and fire up the grill. It's kind of like .....pull on that line, let that red one out a foot, hand me the _________, point it at that hill, and are there any boats over there. Team work works. I just can't cook. Pat
