The only thing I can stomach is C-SPAN, which is pretty neutral. Watching an hour on South Dakota's response now. Fascinating! (and very attractive Governor, too)

You could ask her about their anti drug campaign.

She's a tall drink of water. I like Whitmer's curves better but I'll bet I couldn't stand her personally. I'd probably get on with Mrs. Noem better on a personal level.
In that one sentence, I'm sure I just failed every Progressive purity test ever issued.

Sooooooo.... Where do you stand on Biden's choice for VP?

Wow. Thanks for the link, Tigger. I was going to make a run to get beer, but I think I'll put that on hold.
For like 6 months....

Sort of.
This isn't like "campaign season" where you've already decided who you're going to vote for so you can turn off the TV and ignore it all.
Laws in my state evolve literally on a day-to-day basis. Where I can go, what I can do, where and when I have to wear a mask. Health protocols issued from the CDC and other organizations keep evolving.
If I don't want to be hassled by the police or irate private citizens and if I want to avoid getting sick, a certain amount of news consumption is required. It is distasteful.

She is overjoyed, opens the email on her iPad and goes to sign the acceptance document, clicks a random arrow button and somehow declines the loan. Of course, no help is available. Tomorrow she’ll go to the bank and plead her case in person. .

This is like testing everyone in a small town, admittedly with young probably mostly healthy inhabitants. Some will become ill, but so far only one death. This may explain how this thing took off so fast, gobs of infected younger folks in the community spreading the virus without any knowledge of having been carriers.

I realize that 5,000 is a small sample size relative to the US population but if this is reflective of reality at all, the general population is far more infected than we realize...and we're just spreadin' it around.

Being so A.D.D., I'd always click some stupid button sending the process back to Square One or into cyber-oblivion. Luckily there were not 10,000 other folks in panic mode trying to get tech support simultaneously back then.
With regard to the "younger folks" conversation above, our younger kid got furloughed and is going BSC alone in her studio apartment.
We've offered her the option of moving home with us, suburbia, backyard, access to trails, bikes, etc. But we are really quite worried about how long she'd need to quarantine and we have to navigate the matrix of her external contacts with her boyfriend, her college roommate and her trips out to get food and wine.
My wife says 15 days due to my own particular vulnerabilities (much like Richard Reid, mentioned above - asthma, prior bouts with pneumonia as a young adult, and years of summer jobs exposure to asbestos).
I'm not sure the kid can endure, psychologically and emotionally, another 8 days of being alone. She is extremely distraught.
So there's that.
