Calling All Canadians

Postby BeauV » Fri Jan 24, 2014 12:29 pm

OK, I found out that the Hudson Bay Company (you know the blanket guys) are doing the Canadian Winter Olympic clothing and swag. I logged in and found a great red and white rugby jersey, filled out all the forms, went to check out and the web site announced that they won't ship Canadian Olympic swag to the US! WHAT!

Good grief!

Would any cooperative Canadian buy the thing for me, I'm happy to send $$s to you to cover it, and re-ship it to me? If so, I'd really appreciate it. Just PM me and I'll get you the money. It's a wonderful rugby shirt and in winter that's about all I wear.

Cheers,

Beau

What a great shirt! Beau, I would be happy to get it for you. What size? You can mail me a cheque after you receive it. I am going to the States in two weeks and I can mail it from there more easily. Then you do not have to worry about duty, the border etc., if you can wait that long. Or I can just mail it from here.

Actually James, you are a pretty good guy, SWMBO and I enjoyed your visit. (Well, maybe it was Ann who made it so nice.)

I can vouch for that - I married one. The little half breed came out great as well.

Canadians are a favorite here because my Grandpa Sam was a Canadian and he was a great guy!

Sometimes when our politicians gets unbearable here I think of moving to Canada, but then I read about a certain mayor in Canada East and I realize they are all the same no matter which side of the border.......

Being Canadian has nuffen to do with being nice, and vice versa. As Kim says, we have politicians, indeed all types of people, on both sides of "the border" all around this planet. : )

We are all simply humans. All imperfect, each with a varying balance of qualities, ideas and attitudes. For me, it is the attitude and actions that define a person, more than anything I can think of. They say the deepest need in a human is the need for acceptance, and the biggest fear, is fear of rejection. I find it does my soul good to try & remember that, in times when someone rubs me the wrong way.

The day we all (speaking generally) try to stop labelling and judging people based on borders, (whether they be provincial, state, country, continent), race, age, political party, sexual orientation (and the list goes on) - the world will be a far more harmonious place. Stepping down, or rather falling off my soap box ; )

I like this and have posted it on fb a number of times.

Beau, I look forward to seeing pics of you wearing your awesome new shirt, while beam reaching on Mayan! ,,, __/) ,,,

Lin, that poster is great and SO true. I remember a vivid example from years ago - I was in a yacht brokerage office and I overheard a broker say to the person he was speaking to "What's in it for me?"

I left and never went back. I swore to myself I would never deal with anyone with that attitude
