Today, I'd guess that was a PhotoShop Job. Then, I'd guess that some drunken skipper wanted to make port in record time. What in the WORLD were they thinking??

I especially like the guys standing on shore: "The crew paused for a photo with their ship prior to walking down the road to the local pub."

We called that the "thicker laminate rule". A related rule is the better paint job rule. The boat with the better paint gives way.

Lin, that is certainly Paul Elvstrom, and it's one of the best quotes ever. Sadly, few of our modern racers understand what the heck he was talking about. BV

No idea where the saying came from.... obviously I fell far from the tree :lol:
