A big thanks to the PNW

Postby Olaf Hart » Fri Sep 05, 2014 10:45 pm

We are back home in Tasmania, after a great trip

Two weeks playing with our ten month old grandson, who is now the life of the party after we taught him to wave at everybody, smile and say "hey".

Then a week in the PNW, the highlights were dinner with Bob's family and lunch and a tour at Kim and Susan's.

We covered a lot of ground, had a great time, and we will certainly be back.

Thanks again guys, and remember the Hobart Wooden Boat Show is in February next year, an open invite to all scantlingers who want to visit.

Olof and Sweet Hart were just another great example of the wonderful people Suzy and I have met here on Scantlings and then in person.
What a super community!!

Thanks Rick!
(Rick and Menna are another great example, but he gets double points for creating the community in the first place.)

There must be more....that we have met in person........(I already knew Bob.)

Now let's talk about Feb. how cool would it be to flood the Hobart Wooden Boat Show with Scantlingers??

We need tee shirts.........and ball caps.

Olaf, I am glad that you had the chance to meet some Scantlings folks, and that you enjoyed your time in the PNW.

I have heard so many good things about the hospitality of the folks in Hobart for sailors doing the Sydney Hobart race; (Tim O said the reception and hospitality in Hobart was incredible). I am glad that you had a taste of some warm hospitality here.

Next time, you are up this way, hopefully a few more of us will have the opportunity to meet you.
