Eric:
I just got a new recording of the Mathew Passion. It is by the Dresdner Kreuzchor with Thomanchor Leipzig with the Gewandhausorchester Leipzig. On the Brilliant Classics label.
It's new now so naturally it's my favorite Passion recording. I don't have one on vinyl. Not sure I want to get up and down quite that much.

It is superb. Great sound for a cd.
Please take a look at my blog. I think you will find it interesting and entertaining:

Thank you, Bob! I will certainly look into it. Just listened to Herreweghe's performance on YouTube and was reminded how great the music is.

Eric:
I took the cd's down to the "big system" today so I could listen while getting ready for the Easter dinner. The sound is superb and the dynamics are startling for a cd. This is by far the best recording I have of the Passion.

I get all my cd's through Archiv music. They have a huge selection and their service is first rate. They have sales every weekend.
