Won't be any worse than Feb 2010, when we got snowed in and lost power for 5 days. Only potential problem is that we no longer have a wood stove and will have to get by with a propane heater. But we're tough here inside the beltway.

6-8" of dry snow so far but just starts sleeting. Wind 20+. On the windward side of the house, the updraft off the bank and backdraft off the house have combined to create an 18-20' standing "wave" on the deck, abot 6' from the house with bare deck against the wall. Leeward sode has 8-10" drifts against the house. "Thundersnow"predicts for midnight and a shift to heavy blowing snow by 0200 lasting for 18-20 hours. Wind will build to 35G50+ by shortly after dawn.
Just a brisk January weekend.

So what did I do to get ready? I bought a convertible on Thursday.
Now my son wants to learn how to drive a manual.

Winds consistently below model around here.

Oooh nice! You're a number 1 dad for even thinking of letting your son touch that ride. And those extreme summers look perfect for the snow.
