Vacation Suggestions?

Postby Tigger » Tue Nov 22, 2016 8:46 pm

OK, here's the scoop. My wife is attending a conference in Hong Kong in the second week of July (the World Harp Congress--I doubt that many of you will be there :D ). There is a side of me that just wants to head out on the boat and send her off to enjoy the conference. I've been to Hong Kong before (1992 or so.)

But, if I was to tag along, having already flown all the way there from here (Vancouver) ... any suggestions on where we might go after?

Try Taiwan. It's just one + hour flight away.

My wife tells me that we will be on a beach, watching fireworks on New Years Eve........INSIDE the West Edmonton Mall Water Park.

I'm sure it will be a cultural experience I'll never forget.

Well, I've lived in all 3 places, HKG, Taiwan and Singapore. If you need any intel...

There are also some interesting ferry day-trips from HKG to the outer islands and Macau. We used to do that for lunch....

Lot's of stuff like this all over Taiwan. http://www.booking.com/hotel/tw/onsen-papawaqa.html

Singapore has lots of stuff to do. Great parks, restaurants and hawker centers.
